In June Woe, Is Me entered the studio to record their second studio album. They spent two months on recording and producing the album. The album was finished around mid September and is currently being mastered and mixed. The album is entitled Genesi[s] and will release late fall. There are four track titles confirmed. "A Story to Tell" "Nothing Left to Lose" "I Told You Once" and "Family First". On a website called "thearteryfoundation.com" these tracks as well as the album title were confirmed. The song "A Story to Tell" has lyrics that have the same name as the TYSWGYAR Tour. The lyrics are "You don't have the backbone that everyone believes/ so talk your shit/ I'lll give you a reason to."

    yah, issues honestly complain too much in some songs and sound too whiney. the 2 songs from this album were just too rad.

    The ep was a disappointment cause so many people thought just cause it had the original members it was gonna sound like w,im sophomore album if Tyler stayed in but issues ended up being heavily influenced by Tyler so theres a lot of EDM and r&b in the songs . Personally I loved it , I’m not having super high expectations for genesi[s] just in case if it ends up like black diamonds

    I think Black Diamonds EP was great but I’m having even higher expectations on Genesi[s]. I just can’t wait it. :) Both I’ve Told You Once and A Story To Tell sound great to me. They have really put some time and effort on those sounds – especially guitars sound awesome.

    Albums always leak about exactly one week before the release date because all albums ship out one week before their release date. Now there is always the exception when someone else gets their hands on it from an inside source and decides to leak the album, but otherwise, it usually is within a week of its release.

        It may sound like that after your first listen, yeah. But give it another try. And what genre does it represent, if you say it’s generic? I would’t say it’s post-hatrdcore; it sounds more like a metalcore album, really decent one, and I think not generic at all.

    this album was great. amazing actually. I really liked it. everyone thought it was gonna suck ass, nope they killed it. greatness.

    I must say this album was amazing, a million times better than what Issues put out. My only complaints are that Hance wasnt utilized enougth in allot of the songs and the songs for the most part got a little bit repetative. A Story to Tell is still the best one on the album, but surprises like Family First and Nothing Left to Loose were excellent. A must BUY!!!

      You’ve got to be insane… There is no structure to any of these songs, they are just mashed up with no flow. Yeah I can see if you want a few aggressive songs to bang your head, I get that, but musically the talent isn’t there. Almost all of the parts where there should be tranquility and flow (aka in the chorus) are just as jumbled as the heavy parts. Hances singing is very disappointing. He constantly does a talk/sing and ends with a high pitched note to help you forget how he ruined the chorus.

        Music is all about opinions, and yours and mine are different it seems. I agree the songs have little structure, but thats one of the things that interest me in this band, i like the fact the chorus is obscure or non existent, it shows they do “something” different at least. I like this band and love Hance’s singing. And about your comment about there being no musical talent, I wish I was as good as these guys, and I’m sure you cant do anything better ether. Im not the kind of guy to discredit a artist just because I’m not a fan of the musical style or understand it completely. I understand your points but just don’t agree with them completely.

        Sometimes you have to draw away from mainstream such as common structure and learn to enjoy some of the other things such as this album. I enjoy every second of it. What they do is unique. Not very many bands or music groups have their own unique style.

    This was a horrible album and just shows that WIM will never go anywhere. Yes, it’s just an opinion, but come on guys it’s bands like these that make post-hardcore look bad. No general structure to the songs, way too much instrument back tracking and editing effects, all guitars used in each song were just overused chugging which has no skill, and Hance using auto-tune just sounds awful. This album is a 0 out of 10.

      Hance singing is layering, and vocal enhancements to smooth the rough eges, just like any other singer in this genre. I heard quite a bit of the same with Tyler, and there was some evident autotune in some of his. And besides, W,IM are obviously going somewhere..
      The album, to me, personally, was pretty decent. Not great, decent. I ended up favouring Crown The Empire’s a bit more though. That one was very creative.

        As I did easily because yes CTE was very creative. Instrumentally it’s semi generic, but overall a great album, but hey we all have opinions and mine is very negative towards WIM. Super generic guitars and drums, so much annoying backtracking on the instruments, and no layering whatsoever IMHO.
