I feel so fucking sorry for this generation. This shit sucks…..what the fuck is metealcore anyways. What ever happened to good old fashioned metal???? For example slayer?? What’s with the girl vocals? This shit gives rock a bad fucking name.

Because I like to look for and find new types of music. Just so happens I do not like this band , and I feel as though rock is going the wrong way these days. Maybe I was just that blessed growing up through the 90s. Don’t get me wrong though I love a lot of newer bands, but this horrible emo crap with shit lyrics, guys that look and sound like girls shit pisses me off.

times have changed and so has music. Of course we’re not going to here the same stuff from back in the 90’s. Rock has expanded since the 90’s and before the 90’s. There is so much sub genres within the Rock genre. And your statement about guys looking like and sounding like girls, have you even seen or heard bands back in the early years? Most of them had long flawless hair, wore tight pants and had those high toned voices.

Very true my friend. I didn’t like the 80s hair band stuff and I just don’t like this either. There is just so much good music out today and I can’t believe people make money off of this. It just seems very simple to me. Have a good one bro

These guys aren’t an emo band they are post hardcore. They don’t whine and cry about shit. Watch as your empire falls, nothing emo about those lyrics. They don’t dress and look like girls either. Their normal

How stupid are you? Slayer and blessthefall are completely different bands, different genres, and the fact that you call this rock highlights how stupid you are. Chances are, the majority of people who listen to this can’t stand Slayer, such as myself, again, they’re completely different, that’s like comparing Circa Survive to Green Day.
You’re in the wrong place if you’re looking for something that sounds like Slayer.

Ok son listen here. Rock is fucking rock. No Mater how you try to dress it up it all comes from the same place. This however is bullshit. The lyrics sound tile a 12 year old wrote them, furthermore it sounds like a girl is singing. I’m not trying to be a dick so I’m sorry if I came off that way. You obviously like harder sounding music if you like this sound. I would be happy to turn you on to some real rock minus shitty lyrics and bell and whistle music composure .

“real rock”. You’re on the wrong fucking website, twat. Go look for bands that try to recreate 80s thrash metal so you can further relive the glory days when you had hair and ambition instead of settling for a minimum wage job and living in your mom’s garage.

Before you open up you mouth there son u really should think. 1.most rock/metal or whatever you want to label it have some sort of 80s/90s influence.
2.Im 31 and still in my glory days…..I’m just off my momas tit unlike yourself.
            3. I don’t have to work because I’m medically retired(army). I was getting blown up and shooting motherf#ckers while you were jacking.

Yes I’m into heavier music (among different genres), and even though I don’t enjoy this sound you have to keep in mind who this band is trying to appeal to, all ‘scene’ bands such as We Came As Romans, Black Veil Brides, etc. are popular with mainly teenagers, that’s who they are going to target with their music and lyrics, and to be honest, a lot of scene bands write relatable lyrics for teenagers, not men who are 31.
I can’t comment on the Beau sounding like a girl, however, many would beg to differ, and, in my opinon he is a good vocalist, though I can understand why some would find his voice grating.
And lastly, among your weakest arguments would have to be ‘rock is fucking rock’. I can’t express how untrue that is. Post rock does not compare to alternative rock and the fact that you’re calling bands who fit into the metal spectrum of genres rock, is absolutely ridiculous. But rock has many different sounds, and subgenres that are all uniquely different, they aren’t the same.

Metal, technically, is a sub-genre of rock. A significant and diverse sub-genre, but a sub-genre nonetheless.

While I’m not the biggest fan of this band, this doesn’t give rock music as a whole a bad name. Some metalcore is in its cycle of music, it’s nothing new. Take Slayer for example, when they were in their prime, some folks liked it, some others didn’t. Either way you look at it, they are all musicians and will continue to create music for what they and the fans would like to hear. We all have opinions, just don’t hate on the folks who have an opinion thinking this is good.

In this approximate genre I enjoy: Between the Buried and Me, Periphery, Enter Shikari, The Faceless… I also like the newest albums by Bring Me the Horizon’s, August Burns Red’s, and MIW’s.

I do like some scene bands, like A Day to Remember and Escape the Fate. But this year has been pretty mediocre for most post-hardcore/scene metalcore. FIR’s album was horrible, ETF’s was average, BVB’s was average, same with Asking Alexandria… So compared to those this is probably a “good” album. Misery Signal’s album is decent so far, I’ve had it downloaded for ages but never got around to listening to it until you mentioned it :P

I feel the same way, I was a massive We Came As Romans fan, but Tracing Back Roots disappointed me majorly, I guess for the kinda ‘mainstream’ scene bands it’s been an underpar year, but, for the scene as a whole, it’s been massive, for example, letlive.’s The Blackest Beautiful, August Burns Red, Bring Me The Horizon, Norma Jean, etc. they’ve all released the best albums of their careers. I’ve kinda noticed that a lot of fan bases are eating up albums, like ETF’s, Asking Alexandria’s and WCAR’s, maybe you’re just growing out of the popular bands in the scene?
I couldn’t get into Misery Signals, never did like the vocals.

I grew up on 80’s rock and I’m 30 years old. I personally love blessthefall. I can’t stand circa survive though. Blessthefall’s heaviness makes up for the High pitched clean vocals. I think beau is a great singer and I give this album a 9/10
