Not quite the “girl between two worlds” that the artist’s bio makes out (call the cops, it’s actually a Dutchman named Bas!), Fatima has been releasing music for 15 years under a variety of aliases. 2004’s ‘What’s a Girl To Do?’, however, is Fatima’s big moment: it’s been a cult classic, revered by artists like Hud Mo and Jackmaster, for years, and this year became one of the biggest tracks of the festival circuit due to a crafty reissue by Dekmantel.

Fatima’s debut album Imaginary Lines (out tomorrow on Magnetron Music) very much inhabits the same world as ‘What’s a Girl to Do?’: every track smoulders rather than erupts, with Moog-y basslines and keys to die for
