While Decades In sports some familiar faces - 80% of the band are former DID members - the band has undergone quite the metamorphosis. Gone is the occasional bluesy guitar solo [courtesy of Ray Casarez, who departed prior to the rebrand], but vocalist Daniel Song has become a bonafide singer to give contrast to his guttural growls. The fast, aggressive pace “For All It’s Worth” travels at is more akin to metalcore than the hardcore influences that made Dennis Is Dead so popular in the 510, but the song structure and use of more melodic elements results in a dynamic, mature sound that may not have been possible for Dennis Is Dead. For Decades In, it seems that this is only the beginning.

The name Dennis Is Dead came about when we were in high school. Since then we have grown so much as people and as musicians,” explained bassist Josh Diaz. “…During the writing process is when the idea started to become more apparent. So it felt natural to go by a name that embodied our growth….Not to mention we haven’t released any new music in such a long time. This seemed like the right opportunity to make a change.”

Decades In will be releasing its self-titled record this Friday, June 24th, but will be giving out hard copies at their release show at Backyard Coffee in Redwood City, CA on Friday, June 17th.
