It's the return of Bloc Party. Their upcoming album is titled "Four" and is set for an August release.

There were rumors of the band searching for a new singer last year, since Kele had announced that he was focusing on his solo career. Fortunately, that has been put aside and Bloc party remains with its original members.

No tracklist has been confirmed yet, but once it's out there. Let me know in the comments and I'll add it. You can also pre-order Four by clicking on the order link below.

I hope so. They have never, EVER lived up to their promise and it irks me still to this day. Their debut EP and Silent Alarm is a masterpiece as a debut album from start to finish. The cracks appeared in Weekend in the City, and Intimacy, well… what a farce.

Let’s hope Kele has got the electronica out of his system. Bloc Party are a guitar-based band first and foremost. Soon as they drifted from that they fell apart.

People like you are the reason so many bands lose their creative edge. They worry about what their fans want, instead of concentrating on making music that reflects their current musical interests.

“Why even bother?” Because they’re my initials you judgemental prick. “People like you”… give me a break.

I followed what their ethos was about from day zero. I went and saw them play live before they even released their EP. Kele wanted to do experiment with electronica, the rest of the band were not exactly comfortable with this…. it’s no secret at all. This is why they went on hiatus and Kele went solo for a while, the tensions it created in a band that were never conceptually created to PLAY this style of music.

Bloc Party had always been about a nod to Gang of Four and angry, sharp, catchy angular indie-rock. They were born into the resurgent fire of loud and angry post-punk/indie-rock of the day such as the Kaiser Chiefs, The Hives, The Killers, Franz Ferdinand etc… You cannot deny that Bloc Party have faded beyond belief and released some absolute garbage. This BREAKS my heart… I still don’t think you guys get that I am actually a massive fan?

Like I said above…. I hope this album is different and they have finally found their “Silent Alarm” roots once more… but after listening to Octopus, I have little faith. Just shocking. Bloc Party should be put out of its misery like any vet would do to flailing animal in pain. It’s for the best. Silent Alarm is still one of the best albums of the 2000’s by a long shot.

Now. Talk to me. Don’t just judge me.

Ska,so you’re not a fan. who cares? just go be judgmental somewhere else. we, the true BLOC PARTY (for life) fans will stick with them whatever they do/create.

PS – I am judging you. Because you are making shit for no reason at all. If you don’t like their newest offering, bugger off and don’t listen to it. we won’t care. but you are SERIOUSLY pissing on everyone’s parade by being such a negatron.

It might just be the best on the new album, if you’re a real BP fan, it WILL grow on you. If you’re not a fan, meh, you’re missing out.

it has leaked, ive been listening to the album all day. just need to know where to find it. its ok was slightly disappointing on the first listen but grows on you. the song real talk is amazing. if you’ve seen or heard the live version it does the studio version absolutely no justice.
