In August 2016, British singer-songwriter Paloma Faith announced via a social media update that she was working on her fourth studio album, whose title was to be "The Architect", but as she was expecting her first child with boyfriend Leyman Lahcine, the album's release was projected to be late 2017, after the birth of her child.

In an interview with BBC Radio 2 on September 1st, 2017, Paloma premiered the first single "Crybaby" and discussed tracks from the album. The title track, "The Architect" is about Mother Nature singing to humanity as a whole and expressing her disappointment. Paloma also said that one of her major inspirations for the album was Marvin Gaye's album "What's Going On", which discussed the Vietnam War. She claimed that she wants to discuss world events of the moment, partly as a means of expression for her child and because "someone needs to". The album's release date was confirmed for November 17th, 2017 in the same interview.

Livestream infos.

Added

In a livestream made by Paloma herself via Facebook on September 8th, some infos were gathered:

- David Arnold (who contributed to a lot of the Bond themes) co-wrote many of the tracks on the album.

- She filmed several videos already. They're mainly influenced by neo-science fiction like Black Mirror.

- The song "Lost and Lonely" is inspired by the film Dreams of a Life and discusses the isolation of modern living.

- She thinks the album cover is the best she's done so far. She was seven months pregnant when she shot the artwork.

- The sound of the album was described as "something for everyone". There are "more that are like Crybaby, quite upbeat" and some "proper Paloma Faith drama tracks, very dark and cinematic".

- She involved more people than usual with this album because of her pregnancy. She would only spend a few hours in the studio at a time to write lyrics, get a melody nailed down and record some vocals, then leave the producers to their business.

- There's a deluxe edition of the album which has four bonus tracks. One of the bonus tracks is dedicated to her child.

"Warrior" is Sia's "Black & Blue".

Added

On a sneak peak of what went down during the making of "The Architect" posted by Paloma on her Twitter account, we came to listen a snippet of apparently is the track titled "Warrior", which, by the juxtaposition of images on the video, may feature production from Calvin Harris (but it's only speculation, nothing confirmed). With that in hand, someone identified it as Sia's leaked-in-summer-2016-track "Black & Blue", so we can expect some Sia-drama on "The Architect" as well.
