Scheduled for a March 26, 2013 release, Sevendust will be releasing their ninth album with original guitarist Clint Lowery who took an absence from 2003-2009. Clint has described the album as "...a basic Sevendust record", stating "There's nothing, like, too completely different than anything we've done before. It's got a darker vibe to it. We've got a good amount of the programming element in there. It's a lot of what we do. it's heavy and it's got its melodic element in it".

He has also mentioned if you put Home and Animosity together it would be similar to the new cd.

On January 22, Sevendust will release the first single from the album called "Decay."

God, I was at work when I got the e-mail about the leak. I have been having severe abstinence hearing this. Finally home. I’ll get back with a review. I can NOT wait to listen to this all the way through. Here we go.

Blackout The Sun is a masterpiece! Sevendust has outdone Cold Day Memory. Absolutley worth the wait. Solid front to back, one of their best in years! Tis a glorious day folks. Will be purchasing my copy in 3 days.

ANnnnnnD BOUGHT! Proof: http://i.minus.com/iL1wCgNE2v49S.png Pick it up guys! It’s only $10! That has to be laying in your couch cushion somewhere! Strange that it’s only $10, though. I really would have bought it at a higher price than that… Although I DID pay for quicker shipping.

“Faithless” is the SHIT. I’m only two songs in, and I’m headbanging and smiling cuz the riffs are crazy heavy. Damn this rocks hard. You’re all in for a real treat.

Faithless is my favorite song so far. Great album, maybe one of the best albums I have ever heard.

    Stand-out tracks…

“Faithless” – perhaps the grooviest most badass opener on any Sevendust album. Damn that track kicked my ass.

“Mountain” – love the groove one this one. Really cool, really heavy. GREAT solo. Definately Clint cranking out that one.

“Black out the sun” – got goosebumps from the chorus on this one. One of the best choruses I have heard. Beautiful song.

“Picture perfect” – this song will take you right into the realm of Home 1999. Really cool riffing going on here. HUGE GREAT chorus. One of the best choruses on the album.

“Got a feeling” – gotta give this more time to sink in. Lots and lots of melody and harmonies going on here. I am sure it will be a favorite among many. Beautiful. Reminds me alot of Call Me No One.

“Murder bar” – not quite as good as I had hoped when I first heard the sample, but you will get your ass kicked in again for sure. Clint sounds brutal, and his growls adds a whole new dimension to the overall sound.

All in all – favorite tracks so far – “Faithless”, “Mountain”, “Black out the sun” and “Picture Perfect”.

Best Sevendust album yet? After a first listen – quite possibly. It’s definately up there with Animosity. It’s fuckin excellent.

Listened once. Not to be negative, but I don’t understand how anyone can say it’s one of the best yet or THE best yet when you only listen once.. For me it takes weeks, sometimes months to get a full feel for a piece of work.

      I agree.

First listen is only anticipation, adrenaline, hype, etc for the most part.

There are only two bands where it doesn’t take me more but one listen to absolutely love the whole CD. Alter Bridge and Sevendust, they can come out with anything and just blow me away, not to be offensive to you but you can’t judge everyone based on how they listen to an album. Some people do it differently than you. :)

I’ve been a fan since Animosity and I loved Seasons and Next just as much, this album is just as amazing as those. Black Out The Sun is definately worth purchasing!

The only reason I don’t feel bad about downloading the leak is the fact I have both the hard copy and digital pre-ordered already. I just couldn’t resist getting an early fix of dust…
