Scheduled for a March 26, 2013 release, Sevendust will be releasing their ninth album with original guitarist Clint Lowery who took an absence from 2003-2009. Clint has described the album as "...a basic Sevendust record", stating "There's nothing, like, too completely different than anything we've done before. It's got a darker vibe to it. We've got a good amount of the programming element in there. It's a lot of what we do. it's heavy and it's got its melodic element in it".

He has also mentioned if you put Home and Animosity together it would be similar to the new cd.

On January 22, Sevendust will release the first single from the album called "Decay."

Decay is terrible and if thats the sound of whats to come then its another disappointment for me.

No offense but Clint should have never came back. Sonny was perfect to fuel the 7dust fire. “Alpha” is in my book, their masterpiece. From the songs to the mix and punch of the drums, no other record after sounded so good.

I have no hope for this one….too bad.

Decay is growing on me. Alpha was good but no wayyyyyy. Clint coming back was awesome for Sevendust. Cold Day Memory was much better than Alpha and all of their older albums were amazing. Next was good too, but Clint is classic 7dust. Decay has a Home/Animosity feel, they even said the record was going to sound like that. Alpha had some sick songs, but I like Sevendust better with Clint.

Hurrrr clint shouldnt have come back hurrr decay sux. The music is heavy for the song and only fans would be able to discern a slight difference. The musicianship on one song doesnt reflect a whole.album.this cd is gonna rule.

Really questioning Clint? His guitar work is some of the best. He’s awesome in all of his bands that he’s in.

Wow….personally I think the Sonny era of 7dust was really boring and was sevendust at their worst. Clint brings strong melodies, hooks, amazing vocals, and more memorable riffs. Everything in the sonny era was very redundant and forgettable.

Nobody is giving Chapter VII any love? I thought a lot of the songs were great and Lajon really shined on vocals.

sonny era was one of the worst times for 7d. dont get me wrong, i still liked all the 7d stuff , but i seriously DOUBT u can even put chapter 7, alpha and Next in the same BREATH as animosity cold day memory and s/T (and blackout the sun)

chapter 7 was 6 minute songs with 1:30 second intro for almost every song.

Cold Day Memory was their weakest to me. Animosity is the best thing they’ve done. Next and Seasons are both great though too. Alpha is alright, Chapter 7 is underrated. Home is okay. I used to love the S/T but it hasn’t held up as well over time.

Call Me No One is a really, really good album. Highly recommended and is Clint and Morgan in top form.

The album comes out down under today so I’d be surprised if there’s no leak in the next 24 hours.

There’s nothing I hate more than people showing up after ten or more years saying Sevendust sucked while Clint was abscent, just to come back now and support the band again. Fuck you. Really. I was there from 2005-2009 – I never stopped supporting the band. They cranked out some of their very best music during this time (Hero, Ugly, Never, Clueless, Driven, Aggression, Sleeper, Scapegoat, Sorrow). Clint Lowery, even though being a great asset in the band, is not the whole deal. It’s truly disrespectful to the rest of the guys in the band to completely ignore all the hard work and all the great music they put out during the years without Clint, like many of you in here do. It irritates me.

With that said, having listened to the samples from the songs – this might very well be the best Sevendust album since Animosity. If not THE best. I am getting goosebumps from those samples.

I sort of agree with you. I do think it’s fine if some people were unhappy with the sound of the band during Clint’s absence. I still liked them during that time and supported them. I just think they’re much better with him. He is a major part of their sound and whichever band he’s in, his guitar tone is undeniable. I completely agree with you about the samples though, it’s giving me goosebumps too. The sound is right there with Animosity, bringing melodic and heavy elements. Murder Bar sounds absolutely insane!

“Murder Bar” sounds really sick. I love that riff. I also absolutely love the sound of “Mountain”. There’s gonna be a few to bob your head to on this one for sure.

I was the one who posted as anonymous. It was by accident because I forgot to put my name haha. So true man. “Mountain” sounds amazing. It sounds like every song is going to be great. The end of the album sounds just as good as the beginning.

I don’t understand why they don’t have an option to advance order the album. I would do it in a second, as I did with their last two albums. The official website has no helpful information, which is annoying.
My favourite band, and I will buy the album, guaranteed.

I received my advanced CD for review yesterday. All i can say is this one is EXTREMELY special. Get ready to go on a musical experience like never before. The review on my site will probably come out on Sunday, but there is no doubt this gets anything less then 10/10.

Clint is a good solid riffmaster but he is also a boring music writer. He doesnt dare to take any new steps with sevendust.
Sevendust evolved extremly much after clint left and did some of thier best music.
Once Clint got back to the band he didnt dare to evolve and they went right back to that shitty radiorock from seasons.
Seasons and Cold day memory sounds exaktly the same and should be forgotten in the sevendust discography.

Animosithy and Next and Alpha are the greatest albums they have made.

He does keep his sound a lot but I disagree. His old Dark New Day material doesn’t sound like his new stuff. Seasons was the best album Sevendust ever did. Animosity and Home were some of their best too. Clint is essential for Sevendust. I like the melodic and heavy sides of 7D. That’s why Seasons is my fav. Blackout the Sun is sounding incredible.

I, too, think Sevendust are at their best with Clint in the band. But I’m not one of those who write off the albums they did without him, because they ventured out and did some new interesting things. Animosity has always been my favorite album – because you can hear them all having contributed musically to that album, which makes it heavy, groovy, catchy and melodic. It has all those elements.

Their selftitled debut and Next are the worst ones for me. “Ugly” is one of their best songs ever written, but other than that, Next didn’t do much for me. Alpha is cool in its own way – relentless and just rocking all the way through. Hope & Sowrrow is one of my favorite albums – I love the vibe and dynamics of that album. It’s classic Sevendust to me.

Seasons and Cold Day Memory are just ok albums to me. I listen to them sometimes. Some songs are great, others not so great.

This new one, however, is gearing up to be the best one so far. I genuinely think it will be. It gives me that Animosity feel, it has all those elements. You can hear Clint’s contributions in there, John’s contributions, Morgan’s contributions. A good amount of soulful singing. It’s just all those forces coming together again forming an absolute masterpiece I’m sure.

Leak already damnit. Lol. (I will probably buy at least two copies of the album once it comes out.)
