With four successful albums under their belts and a fifth set to drop later this year, AUGUST BURNS RED have successfully earned veteran status. One of the leading forces in the modern metal scene, the Manheim, PA-based quarter has reinvigorated the metalcore genre over the course of their almost decade-long career, successfully transitioning from shake-up-the-field upstarts to one of the biggest names worldwide in the genre.

Building on an already impressive resume, the band solidified their status further with the June 2011 release of their fourth studio album, Leveler, which rocketed to the top of the Billboard charts – debuting at #11 on the Billboard 200 in addition to entering the charts as the #1 Hard Rock album and #2 Rock album. Adding to the stellar debut is the incredible durability and staying power Leveler has displayed, having become the band’s fastest selling album to date by a significant margin.

Toward the close of 2012 the band acquiesced to fan demand and parlayed its annual tradition of releasing a holiday song into a full album of instant classics entitled Sleddin’ Hill: A Holiday Album. The adventurous, ambitious project also served to tide fans over until the release of the band’s fifth album, due out this summer. Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland oversaw the production duties for the album

I wonder if this band will be able to push their sound further. Don’t know if I’ll be happy with something that sounds like Leveler part 2.

I signed up specifically to respond to this: I’m scared just as much as any other diehard fan. Leveler was easily one of the best CDs I’d ever listened to, and it’s one of the only CDs I’m on record for saying I could listen to that CD and that CD ONLY for the rest of my life and be happy.

I’m beyond excited, though. Specifically because of this:

Throughout the album’s 11 tracks, the band artfully blend piano, cello, violin, trumpet, various percussive elements and more into their sonic arsenal, taking their music to new aesthetic heights and contorting the boundaries of heavy music.

So yeah. God bless ABR, and I truly hope this CD can beat Leveler (If that’s even possible.)

They said a while ago that they will make sounds similar to internal cannon. songs with other instruments. They are expanding their knowledge in music.

I won’t care if they are able to beat this album with Leveler but with the latest single “Fault Line”, I can easily see that the lyrics are mind-blowing. Probably, more than what Leveller was for me.

If this album is going to another Leveler, I will be more than happy.

Messengers is still my favorite. Everything after that has still been awesome I guess Messengers is just such a classic and there is not one song on there that is even close to being mediocre. Can’t wait for this one!

I LOVE this band, The band was formed while majority of the band members were still in high school. How awesome is that? Man, their heavy breakdowns, highly melodic guitar riffs and odd-meter riffs makes me wanna grab a guitar and start learning how to play ! I order myself T-shirt from them from http://www.metal-shop.eu/b/august-burns-red/ It just arrived I am so damn happy !!!

Animals and then Echoes? A subliminal tribute to Pink Floyd?

I met ABR during Warped this year and asked Jake about that and he said it was just a coincidence and he doesn’t really listen to Pink Floyd.
