Nomadic Fortress and Mutants of the Monster are thrilled to announce the release of Jucifer’s 8th studio album ‘?? ?????? ??? ??? ????? ???’ (beyond the Volga there is no land).
‘The Russian Album,’ as it can be called by those not fluent in the Russian tongue, is a concept album dedicated to the people, events and geography of Volgograd – more famously known as Stalingrad.
Lifelong history buffs of Russia and her people, nomadic duo Jucifer – Gazelle Amber Valentine and Edgar Livengood – visited and toured Russia for the first time in 2011 and again in 2012. Though their album plans had been in place before (recording commenced immediately on return from that initial tour) first hand experience of Russia and Volgograd left an indelible mark on Valentine and Livengood which can be heard and felt.
In typical Jucifer fashion, the new album is sonically diverse, emotionally crushing and massive in execution. One listen to ‘?? ?????? ??? ??? ????? ???,’ and one is instantly aware of the band’s dedication to pushing the boundaries of and redefining extreme music in all its terrible forms.
The album will be released on July 17th in a limited edition 6-panel digipak, and digitally via Nomadic Fortress (Jucifer’s own imprint) and Mutants of the Monster – the label run by C.T. Farris of Rwake, and David Hall of Handshake Inc. A vinyl version of the record, and North American retail CDs will be unleashed in October 2013.
Officially out through Bandcamp. Streaming & for purchase.
