Karnivool is a band that defies conventions, their hands on approach with all facets of their career creates the need for them to work to their own schedule. Most of the time since Karnivool’s last Australian jaunt (in June & July 2012) has been spent with various members taking a little bit of time off the road, or on the road with other projects, as well as tinkering around in their rehearsal studio in Perth putting the bits and pieces of Karnivool’s 3rd album together. The global success of “Sound Awake” meant nearly three years of touring internationally, so it was time for a little breather. Of course there were a few things thrown in to keep the band busy, including a flying 4 festivals in 4 days tour of Europe which culminated in Karnivool playing to 8000 screaming Dutch fans at Lowlands festival in The Netherlands. Karnivool also took the time at the end of 2011 to travel to Mumbai to headline Mood Indigo festival, which will surely remain as one of the most memorable shows they have played to date. Having 10,000 Indian fans in an arena singing along to New Day in a shower of confetti will not be forgotten for some time! Hopefully there will be a taste of that on the forthcoming Karnivool DVD, which has now had all shooting completed and is being edited as we speak, with a confirmed release sometime 2012.
Stoked. Will be watching this closely.
So looking forward to this.
My most anticipated album this year
Not a big fan of Kenny’s vocals. ‘The Refusal’ is a rubbish song. ‘We Are’ is slightly better. In m opnion this band is slightly overrated.
They are underrated if anything imo. The Refusal is a great post rock/hardcore feeling song. Kenny is one of my favourite vocalists, we’ll see how he holds up in this album though.
no, Kenny is an amazing vocalist, and his presence on stage is compelling and demanding…..it draws you in man
that song really grew on me. Steve Judd’s drumming is top qual! The best of the new tunes I have heard so far though is AM War… search ‘New R live @ the Tivoli’ and there’s a great quality video of it
I think your slightly retarded…just saying
Absolutely, can’t wait!
Here is the pre-order… http://www.karnivool.com.au/music
For the moment my favorite album of 2013 is Tesseract’s Altered State, but knowing these guys I’m sure i’ll change my mind.
Soo many amazing aussie bands these years.
You should definately check out the promising band called ‘Circles’ as well, if you want it a little more Djent’ish.
Yeah it’s alright, a little too much furious, especially the voice, don’t get me wrong I love djent and powerful stuff, but more like Skyharbor.
This is good. Going to buy this album :)
Yup, just finished listening to it, i’m so gonna buy this ^-^
Beyond stoked for this release.
Karnivool + Dead Letter Circus. Australia is killing it right now. Excited for this one.
Checkout the Aussie band Cog. You wont be disappointed.
I was…sorry, but I tried listening to them a year or two ago…I don’t know how they’re so popular…
Cog is a better band. Period.
…ehhhhhh…
bhaaaa yea….right
cog and karnivool are def on the same level lucios borich is probably one of the best prog rock drummers of all time listen harder!!!!!
cog would and could never be on Karnivool’s level.period
yea, in no shape or form is cog a better band than Karniool, the band is ….alright the singer is garbage and needs to just stick to playing guitar
For up and comers check out Carthasy, Sydonia and Breaking Orbit too!
The Time Traveler is an epic album.
I agree… that album took me by surprise!
not so keen on Themata, but Sound Awake is one of my favourite albums of all time. From what I’ve heard so far I have high hopes for this :)
Heard – Eidolon, Nachash and A.M. War on a radio show here in Australia tonight.. Very cool. Hope my pre-order gets here on friday :)

How has this not leaked yet!?
I’ve come to the conclusion that the only way this will leak is if one of us in Australia gets their pre-order early. As everyones got dispatched this morning :) But if i do get my copy early… NO IM NOT LEAKING IT :p
Am I the only one who refreshes this page like a neurotic lunatic? I need my Vool fix!
No, you’re not only one.
I’m with ya! I gave the Triple J stream a listen but the quality is such shite it made it hard to enjoy. “We Are” sounds amazing at high quality on Youtube, and i just need this album now god dammit
cmon leaky leaky allready
Well, I think this is a victory for the music industry (…by now -I hope-).
leaked!!!!
Leaked on Realm of Metal.
Direct link? The only thing I can find takes me too some gaming link asking me to sign up.
Well, skip the ad and you won’t have that gaming stuff. As soon as you open the link just stop the page from loading, hope that helps.
EARGASMS!!!
Whole album is now on youtube
‘Realms of Metal’ definately has the best sound quality as for now. Improvement still possible, though.
