"Black Radio 2" is to include collaborations with an expansive crew of artists from the worlds of hip-hop and R&B.
Snoop Dogg, Brandy, Common and Faith Evans are all slated to appear, according to a statement from Glasper's record label, Blue Note Records, as are two singers from other scenes: the folk-jazz superstar Norah Jones and Patrick Stump of the emo-rock band Fall Out Boy.
Eleven of the album's 12 tracks are originals, the statement said; Lalah Hathaway and the former "Cosby Show" star Malcolm-Jamal Warner contribute vocals to a cover of Stevie Wonder's "Jesus Children of America."
As on "Black Radio," the Experiment's lineup on "Black Radio 2" includes Casey Benjamin on vocoder and saxophone and Derrick Hodge on bass. (Hodge is to release his own Blue Note album, "Live Today," next week.)
But where the earlier album featured Chris Dave on drums, the new one will enlist the band's touring drummer, Mark Colenburg.
