There’s something almost unreal about listening to the new Slipknot album for the first time. Not so much the music itself (though some of that is indeed quite the mind-fuck, as well), but rather the fact that it even exists in the first place. After Paul Gray’s tragic and untimely passing in 2010, the question of whether or not the ‘Knot would ever actually make another record without their fallen bassist and co-founder has lingered—and the possibility of it happening somehow seemed even more remote with the departure of drummer Joey Jordison last December.
I just shit myself senseless. So fucking excited.
I’m pretty excited. Really liked “The Negative One” and the first official single. Hopefully the album will be equally in quality and, of course, heavy.
I don’t know if you can fix this, but the first single isn’t called “The Devil In Me”, but “The Devil In I”.

First Slipknot in 6 years!!!!!!!! so hyped! I LOVED The Negative One, however, with the release of StoneKnot’s The Devil In I, I am a bit concerned about what direction this album is going to take. Corey said awhile ago that it was going to be a mix Iowa and Vol. 3, and that’s exactly what TNO was, The Devil In I? Not so much. I’m just hoping that it is the the only Stone Sour ish sound on the album, but I fear that all hope is gone… (See what I did there? xD )
I think the verses of “The Devil In I” have a very Iowa ambient feel, even if the singing is much more melodic. I don’t really like its chorus, but it’s a good song nonetheless.

relatively keen, but those track titles do make me cringe a little. and not liking the album artwork, but am liking both of the songs so far. very dark and atmospheric, which is what makes me keen
My exact feelings. The track names don’t have the same punch as others on previous albums, and the artwork is just not Slipknot; if they put a goat’s head in place of the model’s head, then we’d be in business.

The Negative One reminds me of a mix of Volume 3 and the bar code album but sadly, I don’t see it living up to Iowa. I’ll give it a shot though for sure.

Title tracks and album cover be damned, I’m stoked as hell. I can hardly wait for this to release! I’m positively giddy with excitement. It’s like Christmas Eve and I’m 4 years old. The only thing that would be better would be if Tool was releasing an album within a month.
I take that back, this is as good as Tool putting out an album. Fuck Tool!

Im really pleased the songs are saturated with DJ effects and sampling… and you can tell there’s 3 percussionists… Some of the songs on AHIG and Vol. 3 sounded like a 6 piece band… Im so excited my favorite band is back again!!!!! I keep listening to the break down of The Negative One over and over,
