Founded in Athens, Georgia by multi-instrumentalist Tim Rowland (Sholfrost, ex-Peregrine), Woccon released their first EP titled "Through Ancestral Fires" in the summer of 2011 which featured guest vocals by Ryan Morgan of Misery Signals. After self-releasing the EP, Tim was joined by guitarist Tiler Kuykendall and drummer Wade Jones to embark on a new musical direction in which they all shared influences and visions. In March 2012 the band signed with Deathbound Records and released their follow up E.P. "The Wither Fields". "The Wither Fields" helped Woccon garner a lot of attention and accolades from publications such as Decibel Magazine (who gave the album 8 out of 10), No Clean Singing ("Our Ashes" featured in their "2013′S MOST INFECTIOUS EXTREME METAL SONGS"), Metalsucks, BW&BK;, Midwinter Fires (9 out of 10) and more.
From blackened death to now melodic doom metal, the critically acclaimed "The Wither Fields", clocking in at over 40 minutes, showcased a dramatic shift in tone and displayed a much wider range of musicianship. They are in the process of putting the final touches on their first full length titled "Solace In Decay" scheduled to be released in spring 2014 on Deathbound Records.
