In February, 40 Below Summer posted on Facebook that they were recording a new album.
"Hello friends, Quick update… guitar tracking for our new album is underway. Myself (Joey) and Dave Delux quickly made our way through the first set of rhythm guitars for all songs and it is sounding sooo fucking good!!! More rhythm tracking and clean and overdubs to do but were having a blast. Cant wait for you all to hear this next chapter. Pics and vids to follow…and we will be launching our crowd funding campaign asap. If even 20% of you gave 20 bucks we would have a good chunk to do proper promotion and set up for this record.. and you would receive the album for free anyway! We will have proper packages for those who help the cause. We love all our friends, fans, and those who have become family to us, so we appreciate all your support! 40, over and out."
On August 24th, also via Facebook, they announced the new album to be called Transmission Infrared, along with a group picture containing a sneak peek at the album art. A month later, they released the full album art and, a week later, the entire track list.
"Mangina" was released as a single on September 1st, and "Snake Charmer", another single was released on September 23rd.
Apparently these guys still exist, and they’re still underrated imo.
