It's always nice to add a new artist to our ranks, and fortunately for London-based Gavin Ellis, today that artist is Memory Maze. His track "The Closest Thing To Heaven" caught my attention for its easy-going blend of psychedelic and surf pop. There's nothing particularly fancy about it, but the production is well-balanced, the melody approachable, and the song generally enjoyable.

London-based musician Memory Maze will be releasing his debut album "From The Outside In" on 14 August via Infinite Jest, but you can get a taste of what to expect from that record with his new song 'Wounded Eyes'. You'll get lost in its hazy dream-pop sound and his mesmerizing vocals, which was inspired by the astral guitar work of David Fridmann (Tame Impala, Flaming Lips). It's perfect for those nights when all you want is to chill out with a glass of wine and unwind from the day.
