Now, you may not have heard about Ordinance before, but you’ve definitely heard of the guys in Ordinance before: the band features current and former members of such as The Faceless, Good Tiger, Intervals, System Divide, The HAARP Machine, and Raunchy.
Intrigued? Of course you are! And this may only pique your interest further: the band’s debut album, The Ides of March, is a fifteen track concept record based on the assassination of Julius Caesar. Each song is written from the perspective of a different person caught up in the drama, be it Caesar himself, or an ally, or an enemy.
Drummer Alex Rudinger had this to say about the track “23 Wounds”:
“This album has been a long time in the making. I started this band with 3 of my best friends back when I was a teenager, way before any of us started touring or playing with other bands. This project is very special to all of us and I know that I wouldn’t be where I am today without these guys.
“Since the release of our first album we’ve all had many changes in life. But one thing that we wanted to remain constant was doing this band, even if only as a side project. I love writing with these guys. So with that in mind, I put everything I had into this album. The drum parts are hands down the toughest I have ever tracked. I’m very proud of what we have created and I hope you will enjoy it!“.
