Here I go again with the heavy task of hearing and reviewing a band that dares to put down all musical limits and boundaries: the Italian quintet RESURRECTURIS, that is putting their fourth album "Nazienda" on the stores. But be careful, because it's not an easy album to hear and understand. Even the more experienced Metallians (and writers) must take a great care with it.
To be honest, the first thing I must say is: don't try to label the band's music in anyway. I just can say that it's a experimental form of Metal that mixes some melodic and progressive elements with thundering and brutal parts sometimes, but put some Jazz Music influences, broken tempos, Grunge and Groove Metal… My dear nephews and nieces, it's hard, extremely hard to describe their music. It's a matter of hearing. One music can start as a soft and progressive moment, and then, out from nowhere, a torrent of brutal and explosive guitars and grunts appears. So be prepared: Chaos was released from its chains, and it is hungry!
The sound quality is really clear when the band's music needs it to be this way, but it can become heavier and dirty as it demands. The producer really have done a pretty good work, because this album is not easy to work with. Obviously, after you get used to their music, it can become really addictive, so their best moments are "7:12 On The Way To Work" (very good and technical drumming a lot with complex guitar riffs), the chaos in form of music called "Animals In The Meeting Room" (again a great musical complexity, but strangely, in the middle of all this non sense, the song is truly funny), and the weird and thundering "The Thought That Something Went Wrong With My Life". And by the way: in the tracks' title, there's a time, and it seems to mark the time for every moment on a day of our lives.
Chaotic, but very good.
