AND THE SHE CAME play Rock. Modern Rock. But that’s a broad definition. Extremely broad.

Let’s try this: You get organic power grooves vs. smart electronic elements, hard-edge metal riffs vs. riveting female vocals, progressive parts vs. catchy hooklines. So how do you pigeon-hole this type of music? You can’t. You’ll need to come up with an all-new pigeon-hole. So give it a listen!

Still want some pointers? Let’s put it this way: The band’s songs sometimes tap into Evanescence and early Linkin Park or 30 Seconds To Mars territory. More name dropping anyone?

Here goes: AND THEN SHE CAME’s debut album features memorable guest performances by Arch Enemy’s shoutress Alissa White-Gluz and guitarist Jen Majura of Evanescence. Boom!

This band’s story is quite the unusual one. Frank Stumvoll was asked to create the soundtrack for German-American thriller „Bad Trip“. But instead of taking on this task all by himself he brought in long-time allies S.C. Kuschnerus (Drums) and Olli Singer (Guitar).

AND THEN SHE CAME: Singer Ji-In Cho!

The creative process took on a life of its own, and all of a sudden the foursome found themselves working on songs for a full-fledged rock album. What started as a soundtrack project evolved into a true band, hellbent to deliver the goods live, too.

All four musicians can draw from an abundance of stage experience, as they previously performed in arenas playing in front of 25.000+ fans in Asia for example, albeit under a different flag. But wait – what is it they did before? Up until 2012 Ji-In and her fellow bandmates used to tour the world as Krypteria. But despite an almost identical line-up AND THEN SHE CAME marks a new beginning in every sense of the word! According to the band’s fired-up singer „this is arguably the best, but definitely the most exciting stuff we’ve ever done.“

Considering the amount of diversity and zest displayed on the group’s debut album this assessment is hard to argue with.

„Five Billion Lies“ and „Like A Hurricane“ are crushers driven by dynamic opposites, both songs further electrified by blazing growls. On the other end of the spectrum there’s „I Carry On“, a piano ballad that comes without any traces of cheesiness or fluff – promised!

There’s quite some expanding of boundaries happening on this record, too, with singer Ji-In particularly taking her game to a whole new level – in the multi-lingual „Public Enemy #1“ she’s even exploring classic Nina Hagen territory. Now, here’s what’s great about all this: No affectation whatsoever, the arrangements are coherent and compelling.

To top things off there’s hookline candy galore spread all over this debut, so we’re issuing an addiction alert thanks to songs like „Why So Serious?“, „Hellfire Halo“ or „If You Hate Me That’s Okay, But…“. The album’s lyrical output equals its musical quality, tackling topics such as today’s media, religion and intolerance; that said there’s some facing their own demons happening, too.

The monolithic artwork for AND THEN SHE CAME’s eponymous debut was created by renowned art director Dirk Rudolph (Rammstein, Scorpions, Die Toten Hosen et al). Staying true to their soundtrack origins, onstage the band will visualize the songs’ content by implementing atmospheric video footage.

So, what’s with the name? Well, you can interpret it several ways: Be it the salacious variety (you dirty old man, you!), the birth of a daughter, or simply the moment Ji-In completed the band. Your choice!
