Emerging from Montreal, Canada, Avery’s Descent combines the rawness of thrash metal, the brtuality of heavy metal and the melodics of metalcore that will blast your ears with intricate riffing, hard driven melodies and ear-catching choruses which are guaranteed to be destructively pleasurable for both headbangers and moshers alike.
Originally conceived by frontman Andrew Stevens, Avery’s Descent assembled its present line-up and sound by rounding out the line-up with four childhood friends, Raymond Montour, Brady Cross, Kevin Lahache and Marshall McComber, from Kahnawake, a small Native community outside of Montreal. Having grown up together, their songwriting process incorporates every band members’ input of ideas, criticisms, and influences - which range from old school to new school metal and the several metal sub-genres in between - and their experiences of living on a Native reserve. “We try to have a piece of everyone’s mind and body on every track. We want to write songs that we would want to rock out to,” explains Stevens.
