I’ve been following Exist immortal since they first came out on the scene and everything they have ever released makes it into my ‘most played’ list. This album is certainly no exception, bringing me everything I’d expect from the guys and more. I have always been a very big progressive metal fan and these guys are always at the top of my list to watch.
Meyrick has one of the most unique voices I have ever heard and can pull off singing and screaming at the right points in the song with ease…it makes me kind of jealous.
The subtle addition of synths to the melodic guitar playing goes well on this album and I think it’s a step up from previous releases, which I never thought was possible.
The production on this release is one of the best I have ever heard as well, mixing all the good parts of the style of music that Exist Immortal play but with none of the weaknesses. My two favourite songs on this release easily have to be the two singles which they have released called Follow Alone and Erode. Very catchy and I can’t help but click repeat on them.
With listening to this album a fair few times I cannot fault any of the music that they’ve created and with the unique voice of Meyrick you can’t help but sit and want to learn the lyrics to sing back at them. I personally would probably lose myself in the music if I saw them live.
There’s no wonder these guys are doing extremely well for themselves in the metal scene after playing Euroblast and Tech Fest with the style of music they create I can certainly see why. Not short of being perfect in my eyes, I like the subtle bass solos you get in the song called Escape, shout out to the bassist David Billote for his impressive skills there.
