Wretched Soul is a modern sounding British Blackened Heavy Metal outfit formed in the historic city of Canterbury, with its current line up assembled in 2011. Following periods of relentless gigging around the UK, the band has honed an exciting and unique sound all its own, with their potent melding of Death, Thrash, Black and Traditional Heavy Metal offering brutality and melody in equal measure. The cornerstone elements of melody, aggression and conviction allow Wretched Soul’s music to resonate with a vast cross-section of fans, regardless of any specific sub-genre preferences. Described by Zero Tolerance Magazine as "refreshingly difficult to categorise", they have also been hailed by Terrorizer Magazine as "one of the UK's most promising underground Thrash bands."
Having made a massive impact on festival-crowds across Europe -including Bloodstock Open Air, Incineration Fest and Norway’s Hostile Terrortory- Wretched Soul have quickly gained an international reputation for their intense and genuinely engaging live shows; participating in tours with Onslaught, Nervosa, Orange Goblin, Savage Messiah, Vreid, Mercenary, Omnium Gatherum, Brutal Truth, Extreme Noise Terror, 1349 and Taake, among others. Wretched Soul provided tour support to UK Symphonic Black Metal Legends, Hecate Enthroned in July 2014 and later that year embarked upon their ‘November Necromancy’ UK tour supporting Bloodshot Dawn and Savage Messiah respectively.
2015 saw extensive touring -to much critical acclaim-, most notably the 'Road to Incineration UK Tour' in April/May, performing alongside Alcest, God Seed, Shining and Unleashed. Wretched Soul then began work on the follow up to their critically-acclaimed debut album, Veronica and finished out the year with their hugely successful “Tyranny of Faith” Headlining UK Tour. Following the success of 2015’s touring, Wretched Soul will continue to tour Europe even more extensively throughout 2016.
