Meaning behind "Imperfection"

Added

"The idea for the 'Imperfection' video was about bringing that art to life, and capturing the emotion of the lyrics. Our amazing young actress, Rogue Parker, plays the role of me as a girl, my inner-self. The video is meant to give visual to feeling, an internal picture of processing loss, and life, speaking from an adult's perspective to my past self."

Was hoping for brand new material. Not recycled material from earlier albums.

True had I known . Didn’t know it at the time.
“Imperfection” is still a good song hope a future album carries this on. I’m still looking forward to Synthesis and more good stuff from evanescence down the line.

Amy announced there will be a 2cd/DVD box set released on the 10th of November as well. The second CD is the complete Synthesis score, arranged by David Cambell, while the DVD will contain a making of Synthesis. Lead single is called Imperfection, with the music video being filmed in New York this weekend!

I hope so. Evanescence is a unique band and have wanted to hear more from them. Imperfection makes me think they could a linkin park style album but not full linkin park . She’s got the talent for that. Them being inactive for so long made me believe they had split up

Going from the album samples I heard on YouTube . There’s only a couple songs I like. I’m not a huge fan of recycled music. I’ll give it a chance when it’s released. I truly hope they will return with brand new material in the near future.

I haven’t heard anything official reports on that. I only remember the band talking about something like it briefly. Until it’s official I’m skeptical on that. Again I’ll keep an open mind and give it a chance . From the samples I heard. I’m in for a let down.

It’ll most likely leak tomorrow or Thursday. They usually leak a day or two before actual release date.

I have been refreshing this damn page like every hour for the past 2 days LOL. I know this isn’t technically “new” Evanescence, but from the stuff I’ve heard so far, I think we’re in for a treat with Synthesis. Hope this leaks VERY soon!! I’m on tenterhooks!!!

OH. MY. GOD. This record…there aren’t really adequate words to describe how soul-shatteringly beautiful and all-encompassing it is. This may not be a collection of new Evanescence songs, but these songs have been reimagined in such an emotional manner, every song feels brand new. Amy’s vocals are so ethereal, and the emotion she poured into the microphone is otherworldly, and as time has gone on, her voice has reached near-perfection. Although her vocals have always been incredible—I think Amy’s prowess behind the mic is such a huge part of why Evanescence is the success it is today, but whether it’s that her voice has matured or over the years she’s honed and fine-tuned her vocals, the end result is heartstopping. As for the new orchestral/electronic arrangements are concerned…these songs feel as though they are finally in their proper element. As a vocalist and musician myself, this is the album I wish I could make. My only complaint is that there are a few songs I wish would have been included; “Going Under”, “Tourniquet”, “My Last Breath” and “All That I’m Living For” would have done so well in this absolutely perfect sonic environment. Believe me—and this is saying A LOT—this record is hands down the best album I’ve heard in the whole of 2017. My advice to those who are lukewarm about the musical concept and feel like Amy & Co. are simply “recycling” old material, I beg you to open your mind…light some candles, shut the lights off, put your headphones on, close your eyes, and let this dark, sweeping symphony take you on a journey. You won’t regret it.

I’m open minded and have found some songs up here I truly love. I’ve been dying for a new album and this will hold me over till it happens. Love this band.
