There is not currently an actual award for the ‘Most Extreme Band EVER’… but if there was, surely, Australia’s Portal would be strong contenders to win. The walls of noises and howls that we’d usually call ‘songs’ challenge the very notion of what ‘music’ is; put less elegantly, they are completely fucknuts insane.
Portal’s label, Profound Lore, have now released a teaser for the band’s next album, Ion. It will be the group’s first release since 2013’s Vexovoid.
Unfortunately, we don’t have any actual release info yet… I’d assume we’re looking at early 2018, but who knows, some bands are still announcing new albums for this year. When we know, you’ll know.
‘Til then, you can check out the teaser below. It can best be summed up by the phrase “Yup, sounds like Portal alright!”
