KTL’s fifth studio album comes into circulation, a grand dame of releases from Editions Mego owner and founder, Peter Rehberg, and sunn 0)))’s Stephen O’Malley. On ‘V’, the pair seem to have shed their metal-edged vigour and instead their musical direction sounds almost classical with heavy influence from the roots of icy minimalism. That’s not to say that their darker side has completely left the building however. Instead it lurks on the periphery with skin-tingling remorse. As if that’s not enough, Icelandic composer Johnann Johannsson also offers up his skills, orchestrating the track, ‘Phill 2’.
