I have seen and played some great shows in my life. It’s hard to say what my greatest experience was, but I can share some highlights.

They were amazing guys, invited us in to their green room, gave us beer etc. They even brought some lucky audience members back to hang out. Anyway, nothing spectacular happened, but it was a surreal moment for us. Oh, and before anyone asks. No, Sebastion Bach was not there.

I once got into a fight will a guy the size of “the Mountain” at an Inflames show. He was grabbing my friend’s boobs, so I grabbed his throat and immediately regretted it. Luckily for me I had a buddy there who started punching the guy in the dick when he realized I was in trouble (he had me in a head lock almost immediately) and then got picked up by the crowd and was punching him form above while crowd surfing. The crowd broke it all up pretty quick. He would have almost certainly killed us all with his bare hands. I’m not a fighter by any means.

I got to see Periphery and Twelve Foot Ninja in Vancouver. Our buddies in Ninjaspy opened which was sweet. (Ninjaspy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YBqubVjN4uw )
Matt Halpern was just wandering around outside before the show so we chatted with him for a bit, then we ran in to the singer from Twelve Foot at the elevator. Later we met all of Periphery for the meet and greet deal, got signed sticks and picks etc. the best part though was meeting Stevic of Twelve foot. He hung out with us for a good 45 mins just shooting the shit. Such a nice guy and so easy to talk to. He genuinely seemed happy to just sit and chat.

Finally, I got to see Sevendust play an acoustic show at a bar on Friday and then Dillinger at the same bar on Saturday.
I have been a fan of Sevendust since they came out and have never seen them. They just never play Canada, so I went to Seattle to see them. That experience is indescribable. Almost 20 years of listening to them and I see them for the first time at a small intimate showcase…
Anyway, Dillinger killed it the next night. Ben is a mad man. He climbed out along the rafters, dropped in to the crowd and proceeded to play his guitar solo while crowd surfing vertically while the audience slowly moved him back to the stage. Never seen anything like it. not to mention how tight that band is. I don’t know how they do it.

Other notable shows: Metallica during the filming of the 3D movie (the show was WAY better than the movie FYI) and NIN with their huge 3D LED stage show a few years back.
