What does this term even mean? I mean I suppose it means “after hardcore”, which made sense when it was used to describe Quicksand and Fugazi who had former members of seminal hardcore bands and who’s new band was quite literally their band after hardcore. But how the hell does Sleeping With Sirens and Pierce The Veil get tagged with this label? There’s nothing wrong with either of those bands, but I can think of about five different genres that make more sense to use to describe them than post-hardcore. It seems like it’s just a really lazy label people use to slap on things that doesn’t immediately fall into the what is generally considered punk, hardcore, emo, etc.

So the question is, when a term/label can be used to describe almost everything, does it mean anything?
