‘Defending Champion’ Jeonbuk Defeats Incheon in the FA Cup Soccer Semifinals
The Jeonbuk Hyundai advanced to the final of the Korea Football Association (FA) Cup.
Jeonbuk defeated Incheon United 3-1 in the 2023 Hana One Q FA Cup semifinals held at Jeonju World Cup Stadium in Jeonbuk on the 1st.
The Jeonbuk, who won this tournament last year, will face the winner of the ongoing Pohang Steelers-Jeju United game in the final on the 4th.
Jeonbuk has won the competition for the second time in a row and is challenging the record for the most FA Cup wins.
The record for the most FA Cup wins is 5, held by Jeonbuk and Suwon Samsung together.
Jeonbuk Hyundai scored the first goal in the 22nd minute of the first half when Moon Seon-min received a pass from Lee Soo-bin and fired a right-footed shot from the front of the penalty area.
It was a goal scored by Moon Seon-min, who played for Incheon until 2018, against his ‘pro-Jungjeong’ team.
However, Incheon’s potential to advance to the FA Cup final for the first time in eight years since 2015 was also strong.
