    Documents Required for Car Ownership Transfer

    1.1. Vehicle ownership transfer in the event it is purchased by someone else:

    The following paperwork is required for a typical sale to transfer Title of a vehicle in Houston, TX:
    • A routine sale application (Form 29) that can be used to transfer ownership.
    Form 30 is required.
    In addition to Forms 30 and 31, Forms 1 and 2 must be completed.

    The following documents must be presented with Forms 1 and 2:
    • Certificate of vehicle registration (Form 1)
    •The vehicle’s insurance certificate
    • a certificate stating that the vehicle’s pollutant emissions are under control.
    •The new vehicle owner’s PAN card and Form 60.
    • a pencil drawing of the vehicle’s chassis and engine.
    • A document that serves as proof of the car owner’s date of birth;
    • a document that serves as proof of the vehicle’s owner’s address.
    •The vehicle’s R.C. manual.
    • The buyer’s dedication

    Two passport-size pictures of the vehicle’s owner
    • a certificate stating that the vehicle’s tax has been paid in full
    Form 2: The vehicle’s owner must provide a No Objection Certificate acquired from the appropriate registering authority.
    • If this is the case, a document stating the registering authority’s refusal to issue a No Objection Certificate.
    • If the owner of the vehicle hasn’t gotten a “No Objection Certificate” from the right people, he or she must show the following documents to prove it:

    1. A receipt from the registering authority or 2. A No Objection Certificate from the registering authority that was given to the post office.

    2. Transfer of ownership if the vehicle’s owner has died:
    • Certificate of vehicle registration and Form 31
    •The vehicle’s insurance certificate
    • Death certificate of the previous owner of the vehicle.
    • a certificate stating that the vehicle’s pollutant emissions are under control.
    •The new vehicle owner’s PAN card and Form 60.

    •The individual who sold the vehicle’s signature identification.
    •Form 20 must be completed and submitted. It contains information regarding the vehicle’s verification.
    3. Transfer of vehicle ownership at an auction• Form 32; • Certificate of Vehicle Registration
    •The vehicle’s insurance certificate
    • a certificate stating that the vehicle’s pollutant emissions are under control.
    •The new vehicle owner’s PAN card and Form 60.
    • a pencil drawing of the vehicle’s chassis and engine.
    • A document that serves as proof of the car owner’s date of birth;
