THE STONE ROSES 2016

UK legends The Stone Roses are making their second comeback in 2016, with three live dates announced. The band will play the Manchester City’s Etihad Stadiums on Friday June 17 and 18. Tickets will go on sale at 9.30am this Friday (November 6). There’s also a concert planned for T In The Park on July 8.

While many of us are excited about the band getting back together to make a live return, should the band release a new album? We’ve seen a lot of 90’s band reunite to various degrees of success, ranging from The Verve and Suede (who are still at it) to US bands such as Soundgarden and Faith No More. But when it comes to releasing an album, are we sure we really want them to? If it is, like Noel Gallagher says – All about the money, maybe it’s best we get the live gigs and let that be enough. What’s your take?

“they feel everything is in place to record a new album”

The highly unreliable UK tabloid The Sun reports that “When the band reunited in 2012 there was never any concrete plans. But now they feel everything is in place to record a new album” – Something to take with a grain of salt, it’s barely a rumor at this point.

Fun fact, I actually made an official remix of The Stone Roses lead singer, Ian Brown, single back in the day. Feel free to download it, released under my moniker Mojib. I’m sure enough time has passed for me to get in to trouble by sharing it.
