Fans were shocked when Girls frontman Christopher Owens announced his departure from the band. After two impressive albums and an EP, the future of Owens career seemed uncertain.
But on January 15, Owens will release his debut solo album, Lysandre, through Fat Possum Records. Owens has said that the title was inspired by a French girl that he met on his first tour. Owens went on to say that the album is "a coming of age story, a road trip story, a love story," and it's "the most focused effort I've ever made musically."
Could also possibly be the worst album cover for 2013.
I can’t wait for this solo effort. I loved his work as Girls!
I like the vocals from all the girls albums better, but man the guitar playing in this is incredible
