Wile the title is a working title, this is one of the most anticipated releases. It would be his first since the critically acclaimed Voodoo and D'Angelo's lengthy hiatus that followed. The album has been plagued by delays in recording and release, owing mainly to D'Angelo's personal and legal troubles. In an interview with Russell Elevado, he told MTV Hive that he's cut 50 songs, and wants to put 12 on the new album.
In a GQ interview, several songs were confirmed to be on the upcoming album: Sugar Daddy, Ain't That Easy, The Charade, and A Thousand Deaths. D'Angelo also performed at Jay-Z's Made In America festival recently. He performed two new songs: The Charade and Sugar Daddy.
