This is the sixth album from the UK group. Wolstenholme stated that the next Muse album would be ?something radically different? from their prior releases. It?s titled The 2nd law and is due out in October. And yes, the album trailer contained elements of dubstep, making some fans furious.
New single, "Madness", is out. And it's not what you think it is. Discussion is below.
I guess when an album leaks it means it’s out there on the internet and everyone can have it…

Nah, looks like some people just had fun to mess with us again. If there’s a leak it has to be somewhere in the deepect corners of the net since no one is able to find this apparent “leak”.
Looks like we just have to wait for confirmation from the admins whether this is legit or not.
A major album like this, it’s always good to wait and see if a power user has reported it.
I took a look at the two users who claimed that it had leaked, their reports weren’t legit. So I removed them.
Patience is a virtue and I hope you guys have made sure to pre-order the album.

This song doesn’t sound like dubstep at all. Just because they are using a synth bass doesn’t mean its dubstep. This song actually reminds me of “Time is running out” which also uses a similar bassline.
The dubstep influence is on the song ‘The 2nd Law: Unsustainable’, I think you’re referring to Madness?

Sorry, I reported a leak on rapidgator but then I discovered it was fake.
This has definitely not leaked yet. It’s apparently up on a website but it’s one of those one’s where you have to do some survey to ‘unlock it’ but that never works.
For people who understand the leaking process, is it possible that the album could leak sooner of the original release date (17th)?

What usually happens is that the albums are transported to music stores to be available for the release date.
The transportation can begin as early as 3-4 weeks before the release date, based on transportation logistics. Somewhere in the transportation process an album makes its way into the hands of a lovely uploader, who then shares it publicly on the net.
So to answer your question; No, probably not.
In this case the release date was moved back 2 weeks, and the announcement of this change was (very) probably made before transportation arrangements were finalised.
BUT, above I have only considered physical albums and if there was an agreement, prior to the release date change, for the digital album (or a demo release) to be in the hands of reviewers or such, then it could be available more widely and possibly leak quite early.
This is based purely on experience. Don’t you love the waiting game? :D
Ahh, pretty interesting, never fully understood the leaking process. I seem to remember the Sigur Ros album “Valtari” leaking very early, hoping the same happens here :)
Yes Valtari leaked more than a month before the release (2, if I recall correctly)
Beach House’s “Bloom” (so good! lol) leaked 3 months before the release date.
I think The 2nd Law will leak this week.
Hope your right, The Killers record still aint leaked and thats out in some countries this week…seems like big releases are being heavily protected

Kinda lost the faith in this being leaked before the week of release.
Don’t. I’m following leaksallday on twitter, and today there’s already been 2 albums that have leaked that were meant to be released mid to late October. It’s still very possible we’ll get this within the next couple of weeks.
At this rate I expect release week is the most likely time frame for a leak.
The fact that it hasn’t leaked yet it’s getting really, really frustrating, folks. Ten days, at least, won’t ever pass! :(

Seems like the CD is already reaching big stores by tomorrow (or Monday), so chances that it might leak will definitely increase.

A friend of mine is a music journalist and was in Berlin yesterday at Warner Deutschland HQs to hear the album. And she was told by the Warner employees that the album CDs are reaching the german big stores already today because they have to mantain the schedule they had with the older release date.
