'IT' is done

Added

Jari Mäenpää has been teasing his Facebook followers over the last few weeks, with messages that 'something' is nearing completion and now is completely finished.

Knowing Jari, he'd troll his fanbase to a point where they'd find him obnoxious, so being sceptical about all this, seems to be a wise course.

However, allthough never specifying that it is 'Time II' he's talking about, this last message made it pretty clear that's exactly what this is about and is only contributing to the hype;

"When I announced last week that "it is done", I did not mean that IT is done. I meant that IT is done! :D

But seriously, after almost two years of insane amount of work (not to mention a lifetime of practicing and developing music composing, lyric writing, playing, singing, production and engineering skills etc.), something big and amazing that will blow your mind has finally been completely finished, 100%! We thought (and I'm sure you did too) that this day would never come, but it's finally here. I feel I did the impossible! Feeling very proud and happy!

The question now though is, will it ever be released? Well it will be sooner or later, but that is yet to be determined. I have sent a long email to Nuclear Blast and we are now in negotiations with them. That's all I can tell you right now. Keep your fingers crossed!"

Time II won´t be next Wintersun's release. They will present another album instead, which is scheduled to be released this year, according to Jari's words on his Facebook's page.

The problems with the studio and other ones, make impossible to finish this album. There is no information about a future release of it.

There is no confirmation about the name, release date or tracklist of the announced new album.

2017 News

Added

There is some news about the future of this album.

In the video (https://youtu.be/TeqvU5nylvk), it is explained the strategy of Wintersun, to finally make this album. Besides The Forest Seasons, one or two more albums will be released with similars campaigns before Time II. Also, The studio and touring should be finished, and the final touches will be applied.

There is a little raw snippet on the beginning of the video too, from the song "Fields of Snow".

There is a few unofficial live videos (some of them are quite good) of the song "The Way of the Fire".

In summary, between three and five years we should wait to finally hear this album.

TIME II RELEASE AND WINTERSUN CROWDFUNDING II (FOLLOW-UP UPDATE)

So last Friday, we dropped the biggest news and gave a Wintersun album update of a lifetime! And yes indeed, TIME II is finally done. 100% DONE! And it sounds massive!

Were you guys surprised?

Thank you to everyone for supporting and helping us to get it finally finished! We'll be dropping more information along the way about the album and how all this happened.

Now... We need just a little bit more patience from you guys while we prepare everything for the release. The album booklet (Gyula Havancsák is working on it), promo photos (we have a photoshoot soon with Onni Wiljami Kinnunen), merchandise, physical release (CD, vinyl) with Nuclear Blast, etc.

If everything goes according to plan, the album release will happen in the late summer of 2024, the latest early fall.

Before that, we will launch the second crowdfunding campaign, planned to start on March 1st, which will be a pre-order for a very big PACKAGE that will include TIME II. More information about this later, but let's just say that there are a lot more surprises we have in store for you!

Time I was a huge disappointment though not a bad album…just too far into the progressive realm for me. I enjoy Wintersun’s first album almost too much and cant believe they’d release this as an album even a part ONE of TWO.

I think Sons Of Winter And Stars alone was incredible enough to justify the long time and hype. The song itself had material enough for several albums and it’s a real treat. While less epic in scope, the songs Land Of Snow And Sorrow and Time are masterpieces on their own. I understand why some fans are disappointed, but I guess it’s unrealistic to expect an album, which would be similar to the debut one. Time I is a fantastic album on its own, and I enjoy it a lot more than the debut album, although it was such a masterpiece also, that it made me love metal music. I have a feeling that Time II will be even better, although it’s hard to top Sons of Winter and Stars.

Just from the live performance, The Way Of The Fire could be damn close to it. We’ll have to see how it sounds when it’s recorded properly, but I’m looking forward to this so much.

Release date is “Early 2014” now, as stated on the official website. Would someone mind editing this? I’m not high enough level. Thanks!

Time I was beyond words! Not just music or just lyrics — that album was a spirit journey! Or at least for myself! Can’t wait to hear Time II, to see where it will take me…

Saw comment from Jari on FB the other day saying they’re not even done mixing yet. Once again blaming it on not having a studio, and having to do all the mixing himself in between gigs and other work. Sounds awfully familiar (Time I, anyone)? I love this band, they’re one of my absolute favorites, but what a bunch of turds. Mark my words, late 2014, more likely mid 2015 will come around before this album sees the light of day.

I can’t see another shitstorm for when Time II finally will come out! I get that people want to get their hands on the album already, but so many good bands drop album now and through the rest of 2014/beginning of 2015, that you can easily bear the wait.
Let the man take his time and create the goddamn album! Jeez!

After Time II comes out, the record label won’t want to work with him anymore. They are only sticking with it because they want that album out.
