Speaking to NME about the album, Doherty recently said: "I don’t want this to be half arsed, I want to get up there and really fucking smash it out. Babyshambles aren’t back – this band has always been here."
It’s their first record in six years, the band’s follow-up to 2007?s Shotter’s Nation, again produced by Stephen Street. Dropping on 2 September via Parlophone, it’ll be preceded by the single ‘Nothing Comes To Nothing.
Bassist Drew McConnel told FL’s David Swan ahead of Babyshambles debut Australian visit to headline Splendour In The Grass, McConnel revealed that the band have just wrapped up album number three in Paris, where frontman Pete Doherty has been living since mid-2012. “We’ve just finished recording the new Babyshambles record and I’ve been mixing it with Stephen Street,” McConnel confirmed excitedly.
