According to the band’s press release, the follow-up to their platinum-selling, 5x ARIA Award-winning debut album Moonfire is the result of “eight months in the studio, 7000 bowls of pasta and four moderate cases of tennis elbow” and was inspired by Bruce Springsteen, Paul Simon and Fleetwood Mac. “There’s something really magical in their songs…hopefully something rubbed off.” reflects frontman Dave Hosking. While guitarist Killian Gavin says that the album feels older and more rounded than the first record with “more pop, less folk.”
Lead single ‘Southern Sun’ is out now and fans will also have a chance to hear a preview of the new material when Boy and Bear will play on the opening day of Splendour in the Grass alongside former touring partners Mumford and Sons. Harlequin Dream will be released on Friday, August 16.
