Four future-facing but rootsy footwork constructions form Rashad, including collaborations with DJ Manny and DJ Spinn. You can see why Hyperdub snapped this one up for release, it's a really focussed and (UK) dancefloor-aware EP: 'Let It Go' jumps out: all tremulous strings, limpid keys and the titular vocal refrain at once yearning and hectoring, but 'Rollin' is the A1 for a reason, delivering nuff juke flavour but nonetheless low-riding and R&B-juiced enough to fit into, say, a Hud Mo or Rustie set. Breathtakingly minimal Manny hook-up 'Drums Please' is a classic-in-the-making, a squealing boogie synth-line worming its away through deftly turned breakbeats, while on the Spinn-featuring 'Broken Hearted', samples of sentimental soul vox, keys and vibes ricochet against Rashad's custom kicks, toms and hi-hat clicks for the perfect rousing end-of-dance anthem.
