Following on from the release of the epic, driving-techno workout ‘Click Track’ in February, Jacques Lu Cont continues his journey as Tracques with the release of ‘Tracques Vol 1’ on new label of the same name on 29th April.
Expect no less than an intensely tough edge to all that drops in Volume 1. ‘Lunartick’ layers the tick-tock of percussion over crescendos of top-bass until the beats sound like they’re fit to burst. ‘In The Morning’ takes a slightly more melodic approach to proceedings as angular stabs sound playful and light-hearted in expert hands, whilst ‘The Fly’ is a pounding, otherworldly soundtrack.
An outlet for the tougher, utterly unique sounds of Jacques Lu Cont, Tracques is already enjoying early support from the likes of Fake Blood, Digitalism and Tiga. Expect nothing less than music for the industrial hours, impossible to ignore.
