Singer/songwriter Josh Pyke hails from Australia, where he came onto the indie scene in 2005 with the release of his debut, Recordings 2003-2005. The album produced two hit radio tunes, "Middle of the Hill," which was voted number 19 on the Triple J Hottest 100 list for 2005, and "Private Education," which came in at number 57 on the same list a year later. Having made waves on the important indie/underground fan-created list, Pyke was signed to Australian label Ivy League Records in 2005. His first disc with the label was named Feeding the Wolves. An Australian Recording Industry Association nomination earned him opportunities to collaborate with important artists such as Wayne Connolly, Matt Lovell, and Chris Joannou. Two years of heavy touring later, Memories & Dust came out to a warm reception. His keen melodic sense and incisive lyrics earned him fans all over his native Australia and the U.K. alike. ~ Evan C. In 2013 Josh Pyke returns with his fourth studio album The Beginning And The End Of Everything; a record that explores ideas of desire, death and legacy. For Josh these are the beginning and the end of all decisions made in his life and, as with previous albums, a record of a period of time in his life. Recorded with John Castle (The Bamboos, Washington and The Drones), Josh regards The Beginning And The End Of Everything as his most personal release to date.Rovi
