The countdown on Pearl Jam's website has finally hit zero and with it comes news that the band will release their 10th studio album, 'Lightning Bolt,' in October. Produced by Brendan O’Brien, Lightning Bolt marks Pearl Jam’s first studio album since the highly acclaimed Backspacer, which was released nearly four years ago in September of 2009.

Actually it’s expected 10/15/2013, according to PJ’s official website, I don’t have enough points to edit the details myself. :)

For God’s sake…an iTunes stream is NOT a leak.
It is a leak. An album that has been released before it’s intended release date is a leak. iTunes stream count because it’s the full album being put out there in a stream where someone can easily record the tracks. How is it not a leak?
But that’s the thing: it’s been RELEASED, officially. A leak, by definition, is something that is not supposed to be released. If you have a leak in your roof, water is coming in, and it’s not supposed to. If there is a leak in a gas tank, gas is escaping from the tank, and it’s not supposed to. If music gets officially released, it’s not a leak, regardless of what the release date is.
If you take a look at Pearl Jam’s official website, you’ll see a countdown for the album release. So yeah, the iTunes stream is a leak.
No it’s not. Streams are done to prevent leaks, therefore an iTunes stream is not a leak.
Why are we all arguing about whether it’s a leak or not? Who cares? The album is out before the release date, you can download it on many different websites. Just enjoy that it’s out.
Most likely there was a leak, so the stream was put up on iTunes to draw people there instead of towards the actual leak..
