Ex-Pantera/Down frontman Phil Anselmo and thrashers Warbeast will release their long-awaited split EP on January 7.
Featuring two tracks from each band, ‘War Of The Gargantuas’ (a title based on a 1960?s Japanese film) marks the first time Philip H Anselmo has released anything as a solo artist in his prolific 30-year-career.
The EP will be released on Housecore records, the label owned by Phil Anselmo.
“This split is a glimpse into the future of both my solo project and ultimate thrash metallers Warbeast. The title [of the EP] is fitting on many levels, the power of our combined musical output(s) and our humorous affection that plays out within each of our ‘Gargantuan’ personalities,” states Phil.
Both Warbeast and Phil Anselmo will have albums released shortly following this release.
The line-up for Phil’s band Philip H Anelmo And The Illegals includes guitarist Marzi Montazeri, bassist Bennett Bartley and drummer José Manuel Gonzales.
