Seasick Steve, the American Blues musician famous for his albums 'Dog House Music' and 'You Can't Teach an Old Dog New Tricks' will release his 5th studio album on April 29 through Fiction Records, entitled Hubcap Music. The reason behind the album name is simple: some of the guitars featured on the record were made out of old hubcaps.
Hubcap Music will not only feature long time collaborator Dan Magnusson on drums, but in a hand-written press release, sent through an e-mail newsletter, Steve has also revealed that there will be guest appearances from his “friends John Paul Jones and Jack White and Luther Dickinsen“.
No computers were used in the recording. “It was recorded on tape recorder on old fashion [sic] tape” he writes, “mixed on tape, the vinyl cut from tape, ain’t no computers on this record at all! Well I guess they use computers to make them CDs, wow it’s a modern world”.
