The Strokes' fifth album and follow up to 2011's Angels will be out in March on RCA. The first official single is All the Time, which will be released on February 19. One Way Trigger, which was the first track released from the album, will also appear.

UK music magazine Q has released an early review, giving the album 4 out of 5. The review ends with "It’s impossible to know if The Strokes are on safe ground as a band – at the time of going to press they were insisting no interviews or new photos would accompany their latest record – but perhaps shutting themselves off from the world has done them good. Comedown Machine is their best album since they hit perfection with their debut. You’d like to think they’re entering a new lease of life as a band. This being The Strokes, it could just as well be their bittersweet send-off."
Note that Q also gave the previous Strokes album, Angels, 4 out of 5 as well. And now they're calling that album a disappointment.

“One Way Trigger” isn’t a single, it was just an advance track.
A single is “a type of release” that “can be released […] to the public in a variety of different formats” and “a song that is released separately from an album, but it usually appears on an album”. Singles “are released separately for promotional uses such as commercial radio airplay”. Therefore, “One Way Trigger”, Sir, is definitely a single.

let’s hope this album has more rock numbers than the last – though judging from this seems unlikely – shame – I like Casablancas for pop and the Strokes for rock… anyway, new tunes are always welcome so who am I to complain :)

I’d prefer if they went to the old Strokes sound because they know they can easily make another classic if they wanted to, but I’m also very excited for a new sound. I guess the Strokes are the only band in history that can do no wrong with me, MINUS You’re So Right

tracklist and review track by track
Just listened to ‘Angles’ again in anticipation of the new album and must admit it’s held up better than I originally thought on first listen. Definitely eccentric and not for everyone but unique and engaging all the same. Based on the NME preview it sounds like ‘Comedown Machine’ will be in the same ballpark. Looking forward to the leak!

I think whats funny about this track by track review is that it seems like the writer is trying to wiggle around admiting that he disliked it.
I don’t have high hopes for the release but it will unadoubtly get high praise because its the Strokes.

Really looking forward to this album. ‘All The Time’ was pretty classic Strokes’ tune but the rest of the album its said to be very 80s. ‘One Way Trigger’ was ver interesting, very Casablancas.
Hoping for some TV show performances too.
An ”All The Time’ 7″ vinyl single will be backed with a song called ‘Fast Animals’, and it will be released on April 1st.
Acording to amazon’s japanese deluxe edition, it will also be the bonus track to ‘Comedown Machine’.

There have been several reviews for weeks now. NME published a track-by-track review a month ago. Q Magazine published its review like two weeks ago.
Yes, there were 2 reviews already out, but since yesterday, a lot of newspapers, magazines, received their copies. you can google it, you’ll see it. No need to insult someone for that.

Yes Shawn, normally , once an album is out, it doesn’t take more than a few hours before it’s leaked. however, if digital watermarked files are sent, it won’t leak.
amazing record maybe, but they did nt enjoy making it one bit. very ad.
Where are you getting this from ? Reviews are saying it sounds like they had a lot of fun making this record. Angles however, they didn’t enjoy making.
I would think at some point soon we will be getting news of the leak. Who knows, either way… I’m so excited for this album!!!
