At Apple's event today, U2 reveled that they are releasing their album for free to iTunes members. Songs of Innocence features the single The Miracle (of Joey Ramone) and guest artists such as Lykke Li.
UK's Telegraph has this to say about the album: "[...] I wouldn’t put it on a par with their greatest work - Boy, Joshua Tree, Achtung Baby or even the seamless songs of All That You Can’t Leave Behind. At times it does sound like it is trying a bit too hard to please. But it's more pop than Pop ever was, and it certainly does the job it apparently sets out to do [...]"

can someone update the album title to “Songs of Innocence”?
I tried but I guess only admins can do it (I’m level 5). Maybe @Mojib or @PKR can assist here; however I tried improving the site with:
*updated track list (can’t remove the previous)
*release date
*pre-order
*producers
and will keep adding small changes ;)
@moyetes could you add a new album entry? some info explaining the release as well? i heard it’s an apple exclusive? I’ll redirect this one to the new one for you, since this is already marked as leaked.
Never mind, I’ll change the title!
I understand the confusion @mojib; it seems this album took almost the whole world by surprise except for the Has-it-leaked community that was already aware it was coming :) (with a very similar title)
Glad to see this anticipation @Bateman
I didn’t think I’d like this record as I mostly only like the 1st 4 U2 records and the stuff from the 90’s…but I really enjoyed it. Seems like the album they tried to make with No Line On The Horizon and doesn’t play into the “we are trying to make a classic U2 album” like the 2 records from the early 00’s. I’m sure I’m in the minority, but this is my favorite since Pop.
