Can’t say I am surprised by this record. Volbeat has turned out great album after great album. So many great tunes on this record. This ranks up there with Guitar Gangsters and Cadillac Blood! This made my week!
Oh my god my prayers have been heard. After “sad man’s tongue” there are more countryish/rockabilly sounds making love with metal. Lonesome Riders is so fucking awesome! :)

After letting it sink in for a few listens I’m pretty happy with the album. I think it’s a few songs too long, not in love with Lola Montez or Room 24. But I give immediate A + marks for The Nameless One, Dead But Rising (this has the most classic sounding volbeat chorus), The Lonesome Rider (one I expected not to love but now adore), The Sinner is You, and Our Loved Ones.
Agree on Room 24, thats not their style but the Harp-Version of Lola Montez (Bonus CD) is great. It’s the same song with the only difference that the harp is playing sometimes… totally different vibe!
Really you didn’t like Room 24? I think that song is pretty sweet. But hey the whole album is awesome!

I have to say I had my 62 year old father listen to this album and he said “I love Volbeat, they are creative and inventive – the best thing I heard for ages” got to love the old man
