Pronounced "multiply", Ed Sheeran's followup album to 2011's + will be released this summer, the lead single titled "Sing". Sheeran followed with premiering "Don't" on Saturday Night Live. The album features producing help from both Rick Rubin and Pharrell Williams.
The critical response for X has been mixed. Q Magazine gave it a solid 4/5 while Time called Sheeran "tame".
On Ed Sheeran’s Twitter page yesterday (25th April), he wrote, “gonna be dropping a video every saturday for a while. new songs on the way one after the other x”. The buzz is that this means [Sheeran] will be previewing the record for fans in piecemeal prior to its release date on 23rd June.
I don’t understand why this has a low album hype rating, Ed is such a great artist, he writes his own lyrics and he plays the guitar well.
Yeah I agree, I haven’t really heard that much hype over it online or irl, which surprises me.
OMG so X-CITED!!! LOL bab pun :’)
Great artist can’t wait
Cannot wait for this album, all the songs so far have been amazing!
This album is totally blowing up! Ed is releasing a single every day this week (the week of 6/15). Monday’s single, Afire Love, went to #1 in 27 countries on its release day, while today’s single, Bloodstream broke records by hitting #1 in 30 countries. Foreseeing nothing but good things ahead for the official release date of Multiply (X) on 6/23. x
The last song to be released is going to be Photograph, but the album already leaked so…
100% leaked. Deluxe Edition too.
