While the album title wasn't official at first - It's now out in the open; Linkin Park is set to return with The Hunting Party on June 14th.
The band were working on the soundtrack for an upcoming film called Mall, directed by Joe Hahn. In an interview with Fuse, Mike Shinoda stated they began working on their sixth album.
Linkin Park is scheduled to perform at Download Festival on June 14, 2014, where they will play their debut album Hybrid Theory in its entirety for the first time. Linkin Park confirmed that they will headline Rock am Ring and Rock im Park in 2014, along with Metallica, Kings of Leon, and Iron Maiden. They will also headline with Iron Maiden again at the Greenfield Festival in 2014.
Shinoda recently hinted in a status update on his blog that the sixth album will be released in during 2014. On March 6, 2014, the band released their new single, "Guilty All the Same", which features American rapper Rakim, from the upcoming studio album through Shazam. The band's sixth studio album was later revealed to be titled as The Hunting Party, and it is set to be released on June 14, 2014.
Speaking about the band's sixth album to Noisey, Mike Shinoda said: "What's worked for us in the past is stick to our guns as far as what our creative vision is, spend a lot of time on it, and really craft it. On this record we spent six months in the studio, probably six more out of the studio in addition, just coming up with demos and throwing them away."
He added: "In contrast to that, there was a pop artist who I won't name who was in the studio while we were doing our record—they showed up for three days. Day one they showed up for thirty minutes, day two they showed up for fifteen, and day three they neglected to show up at all. The song was done."
Here's the latest single, Rebellion.
Still no release date for Until It’s Gone. It is speculated to be released this Monday, but I wouldn’t count on that.
Release date is supposedly May 30th, but I also read you’d get to download it immediately if you pre-order. I only know what I read.
Its officially announced, until its gone will premiere on monday.
Until It’s Gone will be premiering on BBC Radio 1 on Monday 5/5 at 7:30 pm GMT
And I’m sure it’ll release on iTunes with the preorder of the the new album on Tuesday.
Until It’s Gone will be released in the next few hours
I thought it was supposed to be released tomorrow?
fksdljfklsdjflksdjlfs preview is up on Linkin Park’s official Facebook page. kjdfhksdjhfksdjhdfkjsdhfkjsd I’m dying it’s so amazing I can’t even fkldsjflksdjflksdjfklsdjflks

This sounds amazing, even better than GATS.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nym1P-BO_ws&feature=youtu.be ….. UNTIL ITS GONE OFFICIAL LYRIC VIDEO!
Until It’s Gone sounds totally like a Living Things song, such a let down… I expected another Guilty All The Same, and it’s definitely not.
Agreed!
Really? I mean I hear LT in there but I hear a LOT of Meteora (Numb in particular) and the electronics reminds me of Crawling. I hear pretty much every other album in there as well. Idk if you agree but this to me is maybe not heavy but it IS powerful as hell.
My mind was blown away. Linkin Park has never disappointed me, not even once. Can’t wait for the rest of the album! (Especially the track with Page Hamilton :D)
New song lengths:
Wastelands – 3:15
Rebellion (feat. Daron Malakian) – 3:44
Final Masquerade – 3:37
Two singles in and we’re being consistent with the real instruments; this is a very good sign. I just wonder if we’ll get any scream-heavy songs on this album.
There will be screams…
All song lengths confirmed:
Keys To The Kingdom – 3:38
All For Nothing (feat. Paige Hamilton) – 3:33
Guilty All The Same (feat. Rakim) – 5:55
The Summoning – 1:00
War – 2:11
Wastelands – 3:15
Until It’s Gone – 3:53
Rebellion (feat. Daron Malakian) – 3:44
Mark The Graves – 5:05
Drawbar (feat. Tom Morello) – 2:46
Final Masquerade – 3:37
A Line In The Sand – 6:35*
A line in the Sand would be the longest track on any LP album then, I think.
Thanks :D
Man I’m so hyped. I’m sure we will get previews on iTunes very soon.
Album is up for Pre-Order on iTunes worldwide now!
At least from what we’ve heard so far the music sounds like they’re going back to their roots, or at least something enjoyable.
The official extended trailer is released: Sadly, no new song previews within it like I hoped…

The deluxe edition pre-order is now available on the official website
http://thehuntingparty.linkinpark.com/us/
There is a lyric preview
Some some guitar around the :12 mark, but still, no real big preview or song clip… I was really hoping for something in the trailer!
I’m sure we will get something soon. They did promise we’ll get more songs before the tour starts, so…
http://www.rollingstone.com/music/videos/see-linkin-park-talk-about-return-to-heavier-sound-on-hunting-party-20140515
Awesome interview was just released through Rolling Stone, a lot of talk about how they got to where this album is and the like.
http://www.rollingstone.com/music/videos/linkin-park-vow-hunting-party-lp-is-f-king-crazy-the-whole-time-20140522
Part two of that interview is now up with some more information about the sound of the record, the influences and talk about what tracks have been previewed to media. (Basically: Half the record).
Linkin Park died after Meteora. Anyone who disagrees doesn’t know shit.
*in your opinion and everyone who disagrees has a different musical taste and therefore a different opinion, get over it.*
If you think the way to go is telling people they don’t know shit if they have a different opinion than yours then you are the one who don’t know shit.
Calm down, butt hurt ladies. It’s not an opinion, it’s a scientifically proven fact.
I didn’t know you had to know shit to like music. That’s so stupid. xD
Yep, it is true that Linkin Park is kinda meh after Meteora
Apparently there was a listening party (Not fan, industrial or something like that). Expect full album reviews soon! :D
Im so excited to hear the new album it is going to be so exciting to hear his voice again. Its so high pitched, shrill and whiny. I wonder what kind of collaborations they will do and what other genre they will try to ruin!
Because, you know, popularizing two genres on their own isn’t nearly enough to earn at least a little respect.
RIght? Chester Bennington is one of the most underrated and best vocalists of our time.. possibly ever. I may be a die hard Linkin Park vocalist, but you definitely have to be something special in order to be able to sound live exactly as you do in the studio. He also had surgery on his vocal chords back (I think it was right before) M2M came out. The fact that there are people upset that they don’t sound exactly like Hybrid Theory or Meteora are not true fans. They cannot respect an artist for trying things and still being relevant while making music so out of the box to them and expanding their horizons. It’s a shame. But, that just means better seats at their concerts for me!
I think it’s slightly unfair to say they aren’t true fans. I’m one of LP’s fans that didn’t care for the M2M/ATS albums. They just didn’t do it for me. They had a couple songs on each that I liked, but most I didn’t. I’m all for changing your sound, but they built a fan base around nu-metal, then switched to a completely different genre that I still can’t really define. Chester really does have a fantastic voice though, and Living Things would have been a perfect follow up to Meteora.
I honestly love the punk-inspired songs on MTM (Given Up, No More Sorrow) and I wish there was more songs like that on the album. It’s getting me a little excited to hear that influence again here on Hunting Party, for sure.
When it comes to ATS, I think that they did a great job expanding their electronic outlook into the experimental stylings. Songs like Blackout are incredible uses of the style, for example. But I could honestly do without the countless filler tracks on the album and the constant samples from famous speeches. While I enjoy most of ATS, those things ruin my ability to listen to the album as a whole from start to finish.
So yesterday was the listening party. There are already two reviews of the album out. Sad to hear there are two instrumentals. (The Summoning and Drawbar). Today is LP’s first performance on THP “tour”. I’m stoked to see which songs get dropped. I’m hoping for GATS, UIG and a new song from THP! :D
mate, where did you find the reviews?
http://www.lpassociation.com/forums/showthread.php?t=40478
“Drawbar” features Tom Morello, and sounds very much like a Rage Against The Machine cut. Chester’s low fi vocals almost sound like they are coming from a radio transmission.
Doesn’t sound like much of an instrumental to me…?
Nevermind I suppose, that review has disputed validity <,<
Lol that review is absolute fake cause King’s Den don’t even exist
Yeah, I realized that pretty quickly <,<
I really hope that this: http://distilleryvesper4-0.ak.instagram.com/e14b6b1a5ad611e38b53121805cc43e2_101.mp4
is Chester.
It sounds insane.
Ther was a listening party held recently in L.A. Check out the the full album review here:
