After Winning the 2010 Rock Yourself To Sleep Battle of the Bands competition, being handpicked out of the top three contestants by members of Alesana, Sea Swallowed Us Whole has had more fuel to their passion than ever. Though they have spent years touring DIY throughout the US across both the East & West Coast and the mid-west, this competition really gave the band a huge push in the right direction. Being fortunate enough to play a number of sold-out shows and touring with many influential bands such as Sleeping with Sirens, A Skylit Drive, Memphis May Fire, Attila and Alesana, was an experience that pushed SSUW to grow and develop as a unit. This past year has found the band in the studio writing and recording a new EP with Stetson Whitworth of High Vibe Studios (Chelsea Grin Evlove EP/Ashes To Ashes, Hearts & Hands). During this time they were introduced and began working with Chris Gibbons, who came to be the new vocalist of SSUW, which brought an element of welcomed dynamics and became a driving force behind the music. Sea Swallowed Us Whole are currently finishing off the new EP, expect it in the summer of 2014.
