For the members of The Color And Sound, Boston’s latest contribution to the world of alternative pop, it took the end of two popular regional acts for the group to find their way together. Without their previous efforts falling apart, the world may never know their curious take on pop rock, and it would almost certainly never have seen the release of the group’s thrilling Peace Of Mind EP.
Fortunately for us, those bands we never mentioned by name did come to an end and we do live in a world where The Color And Sound are able to share their music with the rest of us. Peace Of Mind finds the group channeling a number of classic and contemporary influences to craft a unique sound that falls somewhere between the likes of Say Anything, Fun., and Hostage Calm. It’s not punk enough for punk, nor is it pop enough for pop, but there are hooks and melodies good enough to keep you musically satisfied for weeks, if not months on end.
