The 13 years that Matthew Good Band have been broken up, the group's frontman and namesake has established a steady solo career, and he's been releasing a new album every other year. In 2015, Matthew Good will be keeping up that pace by issuing Chaotic Neutral on September 25 through Warner Music Canada.
The album was produced by Good's longtime studio buddy Warne Livesey, with sessions taking place in Toronto. Midnight Oil member Bones Hillman played bass on the record. Good said in a statement, "For the first time in a long time it was refreshing to approach the making of the album from a wholly artistic standpoint."
For a taste of what a press release promises is a "darkly captivating album," the cinematic single "All You Sons and Daughters" can be streamed in Spotify.
Matthew Good fan site Near Fantastica notes that the songwriter has been rolling out demo tracks online for more than a year. One of these demos had been tagged with the album title Chaotic Neutral, so this latest announcement doesn't come as too much of a surprise if you've been paying close enough attention.
Chaotic Neutral is the follow-up to 2013's Arrows of Desire.
